Deco Lounge & Bar

They say that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things you can do. Add to this; designing and building themed elements,  transporting and dressing the room the day before the wedding, running our own bar and then clearing the venue the day after. Hard work – but so worth it!

For our wedding reception downstairs room, we wanted a deco lounge and bar area.
I have included the before and after photo’s. They show how bare the room was before we added all our elements. Luckily my husband is a Cabinet Maker and so this was truly a transformation on a grand scale. The project took almost a year, as we could only spend spare time in the workshop.

Themed Elements Made:

Bar and Back Bar with a burnished finish
Bar tables to match
Fireplace surround –  Marble paint effect
Booth Seating
Deco style screens
Fake wall
Raised seating area
Deco themed artwork and menu’s.

We really enjoyed browsing 2nd hand shops, car boot sales and flea markets for the additional themed elements.

People who attended the wedding reception, assumed that the room always looked like that. We felt that that was testament to our hard work.
Massive thanks to all of those who help set up the day before the big day. It was a very long day indeed! Also massive thanks to those who came back the following day to help us clear it all away again.
